Installation Basics
Standing seam is typically installed over a solid substrate like 18mm plywood or OSB board, usually with a breathable membrane for moisture control. The panels are either snap-locked together or mechanically seamed using specialized tools for a more secure, "double-lock" finish.
Common Materials
This cladding is typically manufactured from durable, weather-resistant metals:

Steel: Often pre-coated (e.g. GreenCoat® or Tata HPS200 Ultra) for exceptional corrosion resistance.

Aluminium: Lightweight, naturally rust-proof, and highly malleable for complex shapes like curves or domes.

Zinc & Copper: Premium options known for their longevity (50+ years) and the natural patina they develop over time.
